I was born in 1988 in the Amazonas region of Caqueta, Colombia. At the age of 14, my family immigrated to Canada as political refugees. I have lived in Victoria since 2003 and I am a software developer, designer and musician, different skills which I combine to create digital collages.

 

My artworks often explore the relationship between people and the digital world we have created around us, how it affects us and how we perceive it.

 

All of my works are created digitally using a combination of traditional graphic design techniques and my own technique, which I call "pixel sampling".

What does that mean?

Well, it means that nothing is drawn. Every graphic element you see in my paintings was sampled from photographs. I use software to sample pixels from those pictures in order to create the compositions I see in my head.
